Insulated cable scrap
Mechanical stripping and granulation recover copper from insulated cables.

Our subsidiary Mehtacop Refinery processes insulated cables and copper-bearing dross, slag and dust, then casts anodes and electrorefines copper cathodes to purity up to 99.99%.
We operate an integrated non-ferrous metal recycling and refining facility focused on the recovery and upcycling of copper from secondary raw materials. Our operations encompass the mechanical stripping and granulation of insulated cable scrap, along with the processing of low-grade copper-bearing materials such as dross, slag and dust containing 20% and above copper content.
Through systematic processing, physical separation, extraction, fire refining and electrolytic refining, we recover valuable copper from secondary materials and convert it into intermediate copper anodes and high-purity refined copper cathodes with purity up to 99.99%.
Our integrated approach enables efficient resource recovery while minimizing material waste, transforming copper-bearing scrap and industrial residues into high-value refined metal and supporting a more sustainable circular economy.
WHAT ENTERS THE FACILITY
Our upstream infrastructure handles insulated cable scrap and copper-bearing dross, slag and dust containing 20% copper or more. Physical separation and extraction prepare recovered copper for fire and electrolytic refining.
Mechanical stripping and granulation recover copper from insulated cables.
Low-grade copper-bearing industrial residues are pulverised and fire refined.
Recovered copper-bearing material can re-enter the melting and refining cycle.
MEHTACOP INFRASTRUCTURE
The Mehtacop refinery spans around 7 acres at Girgaon, Talasari, Palghar, Maharashtra.
Advanced electrorefining technology for producing high purity refined copper cathode.

Intermediate copper anodes feed the electrorefining stage. The resulting high-purity cathodes support copper rod and wire manufacturing, electrical and power applications, HVAC, automotive and renewable energy manufacturing.

Every cycle at SVG Metals begins with recovery. We recover copper from secondary materials that would otherwise go to waste, from low-grade dross, slag and copper dust to copper cables and scrap, and return it to the value chain as raw material.
Recovered copper then moves into refining, where it is upcycled into high-purity copper cathodes (99.99%) for our own manufacturing.

What We Recover
Low-grade copper dross, slag and dust with a copper content of 20% and above are pulverised and fire refined to recover the copper they contain.
Our rotary furnace fire-refines copper-bearing residues and lower-grade secondary materials, recovering copper ready for the next stage of refining.
Insulated cable scrap is mechanically stripped and granulated, separating clean copper from insulation, while copper scrap is sorted and prepared for reuse.
Recovered copper and scrap are melted and cast into intermediate copper anodes, the feedstock for electrolytic refining.
